Asbestos Register Coordination

Compliant preparation and management of your scheme’s asbestos register and management plan

Service Overview

All strata schemes in NSW with buildings constructed before 31 December 2003 are legally required to determine if asbestos is present and, if so, maintain an asbestos register and management plan. These documents must be readily available to tradespeople, contractors, and anyone carrying out work on the property.

For many self-managed schemes, the process of compliance is unclear:

  • Is the building exempt or subject to asbestos laws?
  • How do we arrange a compliant inspection and register?
  • What information must be included in the management plan?
  • How often must the register be reviewed or updated?

Failure to hold a compliant asbestos register can lead to significant fines, WHS breaches, contractor refusals, and liability risks if exposure occurs.

Our Asbestos Register Coordination service ensures your scheme’s obligations are met in full — from engaging a licensed assessor to delivering a register and management plan that meets Work Health & Safety (WHS) requirements in NSW.

This service is ideal for:

  • Strata schemes built before 2004 that don’t currently hold a register
  • Committees unsure if they’re legally required to have an asbestos register
  • Self-managed schemes who need professional support to achieve compliance
  • Schemes updating old registers or conducting renovations that trigger new assessments
